For more than 15 years, my pharmacy expertise has been centered on (pediatric) oncology, supportive care, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. From the very beginning of my career, I have been fascinated by the complexity and precision required in chemotherapeutic treatments. Over the years, this interest has only deepened, especially with the rapid evolution of advanced cellular therapies. These innovations continue to reshape the oncology landscape and highlight the essential role that oncology pharmacists play in ensuring safe, effective, and patient‑centered care. Being able to contribute to this process, both clinically and scientifically, remains one of my strongest motivations.
I have been an ESOP member for many years, and joining the organization was truly inspiring: discovering an international network fully dedicated to advancing oncology pharmacy practice across Europe and beyond. What has impressed me most is the shared commitment, regardless of country or healthcare system, to strive for the highest possible quality of care for every patient.
Being part of ESOP also opened the door to attending the ECOP meetings. Each time, I returned to my workplace with a backpack full of new knowledge, practical insights, and valuable skills. These meetings not only broadened my expertise but also strengthened my sense of belonging to a global community. ESOP has offered countless opportunities to connect with colleagues from all over the world, exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and learn from one another. This has been incredibly enriching and continues to shape my daily practice and professional growth.
As Belgian Delegate, I would be committed to strengthening the bridge between Belgian oncology pharmacists and the broader ESOP community. I aim to facilitate knowledge exchange, support harmonization of best practices, and ensure that the perspectives and needs of Belgian colleagues are well represented at the European level. With my long-standing engagement in oncology pharmacy and my enthusiasm for collaboration, I hope to contribute meaningfully to ESOP’s mission and to the continuous improvement of oncology care.
