Election 2026 – The nominations Chile
Blanca Bobadilla

Constanza Cortés
I am an oncology clinical pharmacist and healthcare quality leader specializing in clinical research, pharmacovigilance, and patient safety within oncology. I currently lead the Department of Quality and Clinical Pharmacovigilance at the Bradford Hill Clinical Research Center, where I oversee the strategic integration of quality management systems across oncology clinical trials and patient care.
I began my career in sterile compounding of oncologic therapies and parenteral nutrition, developing a strong foundation in high-risk medication processes. Seeking closer patient engagement, I transitioned into clinical oncology pharmacy practice, working across solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and pediatric oncology. This experience shaped my patient-centered, systems-based approach to safety and therapeutic optimization.
I later expanded into clinical research, assuming roles in coordination, regulatory affairs, and investigational pharmacy operations. By integrating clinical expertise with research governance, I helped establish the institution’s first Department of Quality and Clinical Pharmacovigilance, positioning quality and patient safety as strategic drivers rather than compliance functions.
My work focuses on risk-based quality management, documentation integrity, pharmaceutical patient monitoring, internal detection systems, CAPA oversight, and continuous improvement. I am committed to advancing the leadership role of pharmacists in strengthening research integrity and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety in oncology.

Carola Peña
I am a pharmacist trained at the University of Chile, with a professional background in oncology clinical research, pharmacovigilance, sterile compounding, and hospital pharmacy. My previous roles included work in oncology clinical trials pharmacy and sterile compounding, where I participated in protocol validation, treatment preparation, and medication review for patients receiving cancer therapies.
I am currently completing the Máster de Formación Permanente en Oncología at the University of Valencia (Spain), and I have postgraduate diplomas in antimicrobial therapy, basic oncology for healthcare professionals, and individualized therapy/magistral preparations.
At present, I work in a research center focused mainly on hemato-oncology diagnostics, while also expanding into respiratory and rheumatology areas. Within the Quality and Pharmacovigilance Department, I work with my team on operational patient follow-up and prospective review of daily care activities, supporting physicians in adverse event management, treatment safety, potential drug interactions, and toxicity management. We also contribute to research-quality activities, including documentation and follow-up review, ALCOA principles, protocol readiness, and collaboration in standardization processes for upcoming studies, as well as review of RECIST-related consistency in tumor assessments.
I also contributed to the development of a clinical guideline for biliary cancer in Chile. I am applying to ESOP to continue strengthening my oncology training and, as a potential delegate in Chile, to help bring ESOP knowledge and initiatives closer to local professionals while contributing to the growth of oncology pharmacy practice in my country.

Alejandra Rodriguez
I am a clinical oncology pharmacist from Chile with experience in hospital pharmacy and oncology pharmaceutical care. I currently work at Hospital César Garavagno Burotto in Talca, where my professional activities focus on the safe preparation, validation, and clinical management of antineoplastic therapies, as well as interdisciplinary collaboration with medical and nursing teams.
My professional interests include optimization of chemotherapy processes, patient safety, pharmacoeconomics, clinical decision-making in oncology, and oncohematology. I have actively participated in clinical activities, committees, thesis supervision, guideline development, and quality improvement initiatives, which has strengthened my commitment to advancing oncology pharmacy practice.
I am an active member of the Chilean Society of Oncology Pharmacy (SOCHIFO), where I served as president from 2021 to 2023, and I maintain my membership dues up to date. I am motivated to represent Chile within the European Society of Oncology Pharmacy (ESOP), contributing to knowledge exchange, strengthening international collaboration, and promoting the visibility of Latin American oncology pharmacy practice within Europe.
I can communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and I am willing to actively participate in ESOP-related activities, meetings, and initiatives during the term of office. I believe that my professional background, commitment, and motivation would allow me to contribute responsibly and constructively as a national delegate.
My nomination is supported by the following ESOP Chile members:
Q.F. Alejandra Barahona Miranda
Q.F. Laura García Fernández
I hereby declare that I accept my candidacy to be a delegate of my country, that I am willing to exercise the office if elected, and that I have no disqualifying conflicts of interest.
Finally, I confirm that there is no objection from my national society (SOCHIFO) to my can
