Meite Gaoussou
I am Dr. Gaoussou Méité, a hospital pharmacist specialising in oncology, passionate about innovation and improving the care of cancer patients. A graduate of Félix Houphouët-Boigny University in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, I completed my training abroad, first in Italy with a Master’s degree in hospital pharmacy and a Master’s degree in pharmacology and oncological pharmacy at the University of Milan, then a University Diploma in Therapeutic Innovation in Oncology at Paris-Saclay University in France, in order to perfect my skills in this demanding field.
EXPERIENCES:
For the past eight years, I have been working at the Alassane Ouattara National Centre for Radiotherapy and Medical Oncology in Abidjan, where my team and I work closely with oncologists, haematologists, nurses and biologists on a daily basis to optimise the delivery of cancer treatments, the safe management of cytotoxic drugs and the coordination of protocols.
SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES:
Alongside my clinical activities, I participate in pharmacovigilance committees, the development of internal guidelines and clinical research projects in oncology. I am committed to the continuing education of healthcare professionals on the proper use of anticancer drugs and risk management. As a member of the Ivorian Society of Oncology Pharmacy, I regularly participate in national and international conferences, sharing my knowledge and learning from the experiences of others.
VISION AND COMMITMENT:
Convinced that hospital pharmacists specialising in oncology play a strategic role in the performance and safety of cancer care, I am committed to promoting rigorous, collaborative and humane practice in the service of patients and therapeutic excellence in Côte d’Ivoire.
