Eslam Afifi

Dr. Eslam Afifi is an oncology pharmacist and healthcare systems professional currently serving as Oncology Program Officer at the Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA), where he coordinates oncology services across multiple governorates within Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance system.
Since 2023, Dr. Afifi has been an active member of ESOP Global, serving as Lead of the Young Oncology Pharmacy Task Force – ESOP Global Egypt Chapter. In this role, he has represented ESOP Global through delivering educational lectures, professional training programs, and scientific sessions for oncology pharmacists and physicians, both within Egypt and internationally. His contributions focus on strengthening oncology pharmacy practice, clinical integration, and multidisciplinary collaboration across diverse healthcare settings.

At the national level, Dr. Afifi plays a key role in advancing oncology care through standardization of clinical pathways, development of SOPs, implementation of KPIs, and alignment with international oncology standards, including NCCN, QUAPOS, and NHS-based models. His work emphasizes patient safety, quality improvement, efficient resource utilization, and sustainable oncology service delivery within public healthcare systems.
Dr. Afifi has participated as a speaker, moderator, and organizer in several national and international oncology and pharmacy conferences, workshops, and webinars, with a strong focus on capacity building for early-career professionals.
As a candidate for ESOP Delegate, Dr. Afifi is committed to strengthening the voice of oncology pharmacists from emerging regions, enhancing collaboration between ESOP members, and supporting education, policy engagement, and professional development initiatives that advance oncology pharmacy practice at both regional and global levels.


Mahmoud Elsherif

Mahmoud completed his bachelor degree in pharmaceutical sciences at Faculty of Pharmacy, Helwan University. He is doing his mater studies in Biotechnology. He worked as a community pharmacy for 2 years before joining Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 (CCHE), as a clinical pharmacist. He provided pharmaceutical care at both ambulatory and in-patient settings. In 2015, he got responsible for initiating radio pharmacy at CCHE. In 2020, he joined cardio-oncology program as a cardiology clinical pharmacist. He is a candidate of cardiology pharmacy certification (Board of Pharmacy Specialty).


Heba El Nokoudy

I have served as the National Delegate of Egypt to the European Society of Oncology Pharmacy (ESOP) since 2012, representing Egyptian oncology pharmacists for over 14 years at the global level. I am a founding member of ESOP’s Quality Assurance in Pharmacy Oncology Services (QUAPOS) Working Group, contributing to international standards for safe and effective cancer medication practices.
As a senior clinical pharmacy trainer at Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 (2007–2023), I pioneered patient counseling programs that significantly reduced medication errors in pediatric oncology and established the hospital’s Patient Education Unit, integrating evidence-based communication into daily care.

Nationally, I played a key role in Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance System, serving within both the Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) and the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR). There, I helped design national frameworks for patient-centered care, quality measurement, and health system governance—ensuring oncology pharmacy services are embedded in Egypt’s new comprehensive insurance model.
I am a Certified Clinical Pharmacy Trainer by the Egyptian Health Council—the official national body for trainer accreditation in Egypt—and an ESOP-certified TOT trainer in IV Mixing for Chemotherapy Safety. I have trained over 5,000 healthcare professionals across the MENA region.
Recognizing my leadership in innovation, I was appointed Egypt’s Official Ambassador for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, advocating for ethical, human-centered AI applications in patient care and pharmacy practice.
If re-elected, I will continue to strengthen Egypt’s voice in ESOP, foster regional collaboration, and ensure that advances in digital health, safety standards, and equitable access remain central to global oncology pharmacy discourse.
