Thorunn Kristin Gudmundsdottir

I am submitting my candidacy for ESOP Delegate Election as a clinical pharmacist with nearly three decades of experience in hospital pharmacy, oncology, palliative care, quality development, and clinical service innovation. My work also includes teaching oncology pharmacy, developing clinical guidelines, and mentoring clinical pharmacy trainees and master’s students. I actively engage in research on clinical pharmacy and the use of natural products in cancer care.I am highly motivated to serve as an ESOP delegate because I believe that strong professional networks, shared standards, and cross-border collaboration are essential for the future of oncology pharmacy. I would bring to ESOP a combination of clinical expertise, practical experience from a small but dynamic healthcare system, and a strong commitment to advancing the role and visibility of oncology pharmacists in Europe. As a delegate, I would work to strengthen ESOP’s mission, promote high-quality clinical practice, support education and professional development, and ensure that the perspectives of pharmacists from smaller countries are heard. I am enthusiastic about contributing to ESOP’s strategic initiatives, participating actively in discussions, and helping shape the future of oncology pharmacy for the benefit of patients, professionals, and the wider community.
