Rana Aljaber

Rana Aljaber, PharmD, BCOP, MSc, is an oncology clinical pharmacy leader and emerging health economist based in Muscat, Oman, with extensive experience in cancer care, formulary management, and pharmacy leadership. She holds a PharmD from Jordan University of Science and Technology, where she graduated with a very good standing and ranked third in her cohort, and she has been board‑certified in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) since 2012. To expand her impact beyond direct clinical care, she completed a Master’s in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics at the Barcelona School of Management (Pompeu Fabra University) and a fellowship in Health Economics and Outcomes Research at Path Economic Solutions in Jordan, marking her structured entry into the fields of HEOR and HTA.

Since 2021, Rana has served at the Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Centre in Oman as Head of Pharmacy Support Services, Senior Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Formulary Manager, and Chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Scientific and Technical Subcommittee. She established the first Pharmacy Support Services Section in Oman and the country’s first dedicated Investigational Drug Pharmacy, leading initiatives in formulary management, pharmacovigilance, and training that strengthened oncology pharmacy practice. Within institutional and national projects, she has contributed HEOR and HTA expertise to strategic cost‑optimization efforts, national methodological guidelines for HTA, and the development of cost‑effectiveness thresholds in Oman.

Rana also serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the National University of Science and Technology, where she teaches and mentors master’s students in clinical pharmacy with a focus on oncology. Previously, she spent 14 years at King Hussein Cancer Center in Jordan as a Senior Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and Investigational Drug Pharmacy Supervisor, contributing to multidisciplinary care, clinical practice guidelines, residency training, and quality improvement projects. She is an active speaker and scientific committee member at regional and international conferences and remains committed to advancing oncology stewardship, real‑world evidence generation, and capacity building in pharmacotherapy and oncology.
