Through the Summer Academy, the DGOP aims to give young colleagues an insight into the pharmaceutical care of cancer patients whilst they are still studying.
As well as providing an introduction to the technical fundamentals, the programme focuses above all on the communication skills required when dealing with patients and on the counsellor’s self-image – in other words, the basis for authentic care.
In line with the DGOP’s principle of interdisciplinary collaboration, this weekend’s programme is being organised jointly by pharmacists, oncologists and other healthcare professionals, as well as an artist. Working together for the benefit of the patient.
